Filler Dissolving with Hyalofix technique using hyaluronidase enzyme

Dermal fillers do not always produce the desired results especially in the tear  troughs. They may be improperly or excessively applied, they may migrate and expand with time, contributing to an unnatural appearance that harms the patient’s self-image and confidence rather than enhancing them.

Fortunately, there is an answer. If you have encountered unwanted effects or complications due to dermal fillers in the under eye area, face or lips, or are unhappy with how they look, HyaloFix technique using hyaluronidase enzyme for filler dissolving treatment will help. HyaloFix is Clinica London’s unique specialised technique for filler dissolving, which uses carefully titrated hyaluronidase injections to remove filler from the face, lips and around the eyes. It is done by skilled oculoplastic surgeons accustomed to working near the eyes and on the face and is bespoke to each patient.

With our skilled oculoplastic specialists, an aesthetic correction can be achieved. Our Oculoplastic Ophthalmologists specialise in delicate filler reversal, whether it be around the eyes, mouth, lips, cheeks or temples. Clinica London specialists provide precise, effective filler dissolving, helping to restore your natural beauty and desired aesthetic with minimal fuss and discomfort.

What Is Filler Dissolving?

As the name implies, filler dissolving is the process of dissolving or breaking down hyaluronic acid dermal fillers within the skin. It involves using hyaluronidase, a safe and natural enzyme injected into the skin to break down the filler material.

Many people seek dermal fillers for their cosmetic benefits, like a little extra plumpness in the lips or fullness in the cheeks, or under eye tear troughs or hollows. But untoward effects on appearance or complications can arise if you have a lot of filler sessions over time or a session that does not quite go according to plan. Added to that, filler will often migrate, expand and look waterlogged and puffy, worse near the eyes.

Those unwanted effects or complications of swelling, overfilling, filler migration – where the filler moves from the target site to another area with facial musculature movements can all lead to a less natural and harmonious look, which can take a toll on a person’s confidence and pride in their appearance.

There are even more severe, albeit rare, cases where improper choice of filler, or excessive dermal filler injections can threaten a patient’s vision or skin health, in which case dissolving the hyaluronate filler must be done immediately. If the patient’s health is at threat or they are simply not content with their appearance, filler dissolving treatment is often the best course of action, carried out immediately.

Why Choose bespoke HyaloFix for Filler Dissolving?

HyaloFix is a bespoke filler dissolving technique using hyaluronidase enzyme delivered in a specific way and with specific doses appropriate to the filler and area being treated. The aim is to reduce or totally remove the deposits of hyaluronate gel. It aims to be your go-to choice for treating filler-related complications. Here’s how it stands out:

  • Rapid Results: After a HyaloFix hyaluronidase injection, you can expect to see the first visible changes the very same day, with final improvements only taking a few days to appear.
  • A Safe Solution: Each treatment of HyaloFix is tailored to suit your specific skin type and situation, ensuring maximum safety, minimal risk, and a comfortable treatment process.
  • Titrated treatment: Each patient has a different hyaluronate filler and requires bespoke hyaluronidase dilutions, quantity to be injected and mode of treatment, by canula or injection.
  • Accurate Administration: Clinica London has an expert, experienced team of oculoplastic and orbitofacial specialists. We administer HyaloFix carefully and precisely for the most impactful, effective results.

How Does HyaloFix Work?

HyaloFix filler dissolving treatment uses hyaluronidase, a natural enzyme, injected into the skin to break down hyaluronic acid, the main ingredient in many dermal fillers. The specialist skill using HyaloFx is to assess the patient thoroughly with an accurate history of the type and quantity hyaluronate gel used, number of treatments over years, and clinically examine. Ultrasound can be used to assess areas for treatment. Many patients like to have MRI to visualise and understand the extent of filler migration and off tissue localisation. Ultrasound and MRI are not essential for effective HyaloFix treatment, but support it where necessary.

Then, based on these many factors, the specialist will calculate and select the amount of hyaluronidase to use, its dilution and technique for delivery to give optimal results.  Often, a one port single entry site is used and cannula for diffuse injection, or a very fine injection into an accumulated area of unwanted gel.

The treatment is quick and minimally invasive, with permanent effects visible rapidly post-treatment.

Consultation

First, you will meet with one of Clinica London’s oculoplastic specialists for a full assessment consultation with a detailed history of the type, quantity and number of previous hyaluronate injections received and a thorough examination. During the in depth consultation, you can air your concerns and discuss the complications or downsides you have experienced due to your dermal fillers.

Our specialists will assess your situation and inspect your skin and soft tissue digitally and photographically to formulate a tailored treatment plan. They will discuss the bespoke HyaloFix dissolving treatment process and answer your questions, outlining pros and cons and other options to consider. Ultrasonic or MRI detection can be requested or advised, but is not essential for effective filler reversal. The oculoplastic surgeons are highly skilled in both administering hyaluronate gels in the face, lips and tear troughs, and are equally skilled in bespoke HyaloFix treatment to reverse and dissolve the gels.

Treatment

On the day of your HyaloFix treatment, you will sign a consent form and be taken into Clinica London´s procedure room. Your face and areas to be treated will be cleaned and then treatment carried out. The specialist will have already created the bespoke treatment plan with specific dilations, quantities and mode of delivery. If necessary, a small injection of anaesthetic is administered to the single port entry site where cannula infusion is used, to minimise the risk of pain and discomfort.

Once HyaloFix treatment is given, the hyaluronidase works immediately, breaking down the hyaluronic acid that forms the foundations of your dermal filler. So, you shouldn’t have to wait long until you start seeing the results of your treatment. There is a continued effect for up to 24 hours. There may be small swelling and bruising simply as a result of

What Is Hyaluronidase?

The active ingredient in the HyaloFix filler dissolving treatment is hyaluronidase. This is a natural enzyme made and found within the human body. Like other enzymes, its role is to break down compounds into their components.

Specifically, in the case of hyaluronidase, this enzyme breaks down hyaluronic acid – a common dermal filler ingredient. It has the right chemical structure to latch onto hyaluronic acid molecules and break the molecules down. It is valuable in addressing filler complications or bringing balance back to overfilled areas.

What to Expect During Filler Dissolving Treatment

If it is your first time undergoing filler dissolving treatment, you likely have questions such as whether or not the procedure hurts, how long it lasts, etc. Here is a quick rundown of some of the most asked questions answered by our expert team. Main thing to know is that the treatment is not painful.

What is HyaloFix?

HyaloFix is the name of Clinica London’s exclusive filler-dissolving treatment. It uses hyaluronidase (enzyme) injections to essentially break down unwanted dermal filler material (hyaluronic acid) safely and effectively, using a bespoke technique of injection.

Is filler dissolving painful?

No, most patients report almost no pain a light pinch or sting as the needle goes into administering the HyaloFix treatment and a warm feeling where treated. You may have some slight pinkness of the overlying skin afterwards while it takes effect. How long does the procedure take?

It is a quick procedure. In most cases, you can expect to be in and out of the treatment room in less than half an hour. In some patients HyaloFix treatment takes just 15 minutes if the area being treated is small..

Are the results permanent?

Yes, HyaloFix is a permanent filler remover. Any hyaluronic acid dissolved by this treatment will be gone for good. However, having filler dissolving treatment does not preclude you from undergoing future dermal filler treatments if you desire. You will have to wait a few weeks before getting any new filler.

Are there any risks associated with filler dissolving?

As with almost any medical procedure, there is always a risk, albeit a small one, of some minor side effects. Those effects may include allergic reactions to the hyaluronidase and swelling or redness of the injection site. To prevent allergy reactions, you may have a patch test before treatment. Since the treatment is effective some patients may be surprised to see their before filler treatment face and eyes again. It does not permanently harm your own hyaluronate in tissue as that refreshes in the first three weeks post treatment.

Before and After Care for Filler Dissolving

To get the most out of HyaloFix filler dissolving treatment, it’s advised to follow best practices before and post-treatment.
