How can I tell whether my eyelid bump is something more serious?

You might be concerned about a lump which is increasing in size that may show ulceration, bleeding, distortion of the eyelid margin, a localised loss of eyelashes. These are typical signs of a malignancy within a lump. Typically seen with a basal cell carcinoma (BCC), also known as a rodent ulcer which is the commonest malignancy seen in the eyelids.
