Facial rejuvenation for men
Botox for men
In the summer months our patients like to have small, aesthetic touch-up treatments that no one can notice, such as Botox. What may surprise you is that Botox is already an established technique used by men against ageing. The interest in aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery used to be within the domain of women who had these treatments, almost always secretly and usually in spring and summer. This remains the same; women continue to have Botox and fillers in spring or summer and continue to do this secretly, but I have noticed that in the last couple of years increasingly men are entering into the arena of anti-ageing and having Botox and fillers.
What men are interested in
- Men choose to have Botox for their forehead lines, for the glabella lines, for crow’s feet and for a Botox browlift.
- Men from the age of 30 upwards are having Botox. They seek treatment when the first lines appear and particularly for deep crow’s feet lines.
- Men seeking anti-ageing or rejuvenating treatments favour Botox. They repeat their Botox about every six months.
- Male interest in non-surgical rejuvenation procedures has increased by 20% in the last three years.
Facial fillers for men
Men also have hyaluronate filler to improve their cheek projection, for their chin and jaw projection, for their nasolabial lines, for their lips, for their marionette lines and for the philtrum above the lip. They also have the hyaluronate put into their tear troughs, known as TearFill.
Male facial Rejuvenation, Ultherapy and Eyelid Surgery
The male Botox and filler patient is very well informed and knows exactly what they want. They want a natural appearance, not to look tired and to this end they want to treat the lines on their face and the hollows and loss of volume.
Men are not just interested in Botox and fillers; they are also embracing Ultherapy treatment for their jowls to tighten and lift the lower face. They are interested in preventing premature ageing and maintaining their youthful, relaxed and non-tired appearance. Men are going much further in aesthetics than just Botox and fillers and Ultherapy. They are also requesting blepharoplasty eyelid surgery.
Male skin health
Many of the male patients seeking non-surgical or surgical aesthetic treatments with me at Clinica London also see the dermatologist Jennifer Crawley for advice on their skin, for conditions such as rosacea, acne vulgaris, excessive sun damage and ageing.
