What is your experience with blepharoplasty treatment?
I’ve been trained to do blepharoplasty for over 25 years. As part of my oculoplastic training at Moorfields and my further training afterwards, we would do many upper eyelid and lower lid blepharoplasties.
The eyelid surgery was done mainly for functional reasons at this stage, but increasingly I’ve been doing it for cosmetic reasons as well.
So in my practice now, I do several blepharoplasties a week, and I’m very experienced as a result. I also teach in blepharoplasty at international meetings; give lectures on it. And I follow my patients through up to three months afterwards, so I get very good feedback from them as to their results.
In a normal week, I’ll do 2 – 3 blepharoplasties a week. Remember, each blepharoplasty can take from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. So that’s a reasonable amount in anyone’s practice to do.
