Clinica London Evolution 2011 to 2018

Director and founder of Clinica London, ophthalmic and oculoplastic eye surgeon Jane Olver welcomes you to Clinica London, The Private Eye Clinic in Harley Street

“I wanted to create an ultra-clean but not sterile environment. Somewhere where it would be both a pleasure to work and also somewhere pleasant and relaxing for my patients”, said Jane.

Clinica London is on two floors at 140 Harley Street. These premises were then refurbished by the acclaimed architect Jerry Bailey and the doors opened to patients in January 2011.

A pivotal turning point occurred in August 2012 when Jane started a two-year sabbatical from the NHS in order to concentrate on developing this first class private eye clinic, Clinica London, and to have time for personal development and to enjoy travelling and learning languages.

On 31st July 2014, Jane resigned from the NHS in order to devote more time to Clinica London.  She has taken Clinica London forwards since then and provides patients with rapid access to first class general and specialist eye surgery and care and more recently dermatology. The clinic has expanded to have seven consultants, consisting of six ophthalmologists and one dermatologist.

Clinica London initially introduced Medical Retina at Clinica and Cataract at Clinica by Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeons Mr Jaheed Khan and Professor Michel Michaelides. More recently in 2015 and 2016 the two
Crawley sisters have joined Clinica London. Miss Laura Crawley specializes in Glaucoma and Cataract at Clinica, and Dr Jennifer Crawley practices Dermatology at Clinica London. In 2018, we were joined by Naz Raoof, a specialist in children’s eyes, neuro-ophthalmology and adult squints and Sajjad Ahmad, a corneal specialist ophthalmologist.

With seven consultants we are able to provide a top comprehensive medical service in a spacious, calm, relaxing and clean environment. We have a technical room, a procedures room, two consultation rooms, an aesthetic treatment room as well as a spacious waiting area and welcoming reception with Jenny Burrows the Clinica London coordinator and Lizi Grainger the Receptionist.

The nurses assist the consultants and do the eye tests including OCT, visual fields, SLO and biometry measurements of the eye for cataract surgery, and Pentacam measurements for corneal surgery and keratoconus cross-linking. The nurses also run the Tears Clinic for Dry Eyes and do MiboFlo eyelid treatments for blepharitis and Meibomian gland dysfunction as well as Aesthetic treatments with Ultherapy and Intraceuticals. They assist Dr Jennifer Crawley with dermatology procedures and treatments such as skin biopsy for moles, cryotherapy of skin lesions and keloid scar treatment.

Our team of Consultants and Nurses are here to look after your eyes and skin. Clinica London is now an Eye and Skin Clinic, offering primarily a menu of ophthalmology and dermatology treatments.
Clinica London also offers cosmetic treatments and surgery such as Botox, Hyaluronate fillers (TearFill), reversal of fillers (HyaloFix) and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty and ptosis).
