Ms Strong is a skilled and knowledgeable cataract surgeon and medical retina specialist. She is well known for her kind nature and good sense of humour, being able to put patients at ease during consultations and build good relationships.
Ms Strong received robust ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Western Eye Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital. She currently works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust. There she is the current Medical Retina Lead as well as Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology.
Ms Strong is one of the first medical retina consultants in the UK to offer virtual consultations for diabetic retinopathy, diabetic maculopathy, age-related macular degeneration monitoring and choroidal naevus monitoring. As part of the process, patients are responsible for sending a copy of their fundus photograph and Optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan from their optician (or ophthalmic specialist) through to Clinica.
Ms Strong enjoys playing the piano and singing. She performed in London’s West End production of Les Misérables as ‘Little Eponine’ in 1991. Ms Strong was also one of the youngest female pilots in the UK, obtaining her private pilot’s licence at age 17.
