Event debrief: Blepharitis and Dry Eye
We are pleased to announce that numerous patients attended our event about “Blepharitis and Dry Eye” held by Laura Crawley last Tuesday ( June 28th at 5:30 pm).
Experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist Laura Crawley discussed in her lecture topics related to Blepharitis and Dry Eye.
Here is an overview of topics discussed at the event:
- What is Dry Eye? A common condition which we can manage, but not cure
- Different eye lubricants – what, how, why, when?
- Blepharitis – When do I need treatment? Home care and clinic managed care
- Chalazion – also known as a stye – what it is? How can I help myself?
What is involved with clinical treatment?
Dry Eye Clinic
At Clinica London, we have a Dry Eye Clinic, called the ClinicaTears Clinic which is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye, blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction which often co-exist.
We call it the Tears Clinic because people with dry eyes have a problem with their tears; either they are not producing enough tears or their tears are of poor quality and rapidly evaporating. Also, patients with dry eyes often get reflex watering and sometimes the watering can be so severe that we have to check the tear ducts are functioning normally.
In the video below Miss Jane Olver explains the treatment options for dry eyes:
