Lid margin curettage using BlephEx is a non-invasive technique of gently removing the biofilm and small raised lumps at the oily gland openings (meibomian gland orifices) along the lid margin. A soft spinning sponge is used gently along the lid margin and lash line and no contact is made with the surface of the eye globe.
Topical anaesthetic eye drops are instilled into the conjunctival fornix before the treatment and no local anaesthetic injections are made and no blade or sharp surgical instruments are employed. The topical drops are used solely because there is a watery cleaning foam employed which would otherwise cause the patient to blink if they felt fluid on the eye.
As such it is regarded clinically as a treatment for Blepharitis and Meibomian gland dysfunction. It is exclusively an out-patient treatment and it has no side effects such as bruising, bleeding, infection or scar.

MiboFlo is a type of therapy that uses thermoelectric radiation to treat dry eyes. This method is normally adapted if the problem has persisted for a long period of time. The device helps to liquefy viscous or dried- up tears by producing a therapeutic temperature of 108 degrees.
